MIO DIGI WALKER

HMT Suppied an aluminium mould tool, to produce the Mio digi walker display stand. The stand is used in shops to display the customers range of Sat Nav Systems.

Duo to the complex part shape the part was made in two parts and glued together. This still left the tool with a difficult 3d slipline this was machined using our high speed milling machines. HMT helped the customer design the alignment and clipping feature to aid the glueing process.

10,000 parts were then moulded in an edge glow acrylic, giving the part a hard scratch resistant and stunning look. The Edge Glow effect collects light from the highly polished surfaces and sends it out via the edges.
