Threaded collar

    The internal thread on this collar / nut was produced using a hydraulic motor and gear mechanism. The spindles and rotating cores are made from hardened H13 with a nitride coating to guarantee a long lasting service with minimal wear. The single impression fully automatic mould tool was fed by three sub gates on the internal face, this gives the reduced risk of distortion and join lines.

    The polypropylene collar is used to assemble parts on a dedicated shower unit. The thread was cut oversize at first sampling then adjusted to fit the UV chamber.
